A-Label R-Type RWF-9A Die-cast Guarantees Hyphens There's no question that Yujin/Takara Tomy A.R.T.S.' Shooting Game Historica line is the greatest shooter merchandise since ever, but how do you make something better? You go bigger and go die-cast, and that's just what A-Label has done with their upcoming R-Type RWF-9A Arrow Head toy. It's larger allows for a bit more detail than the SGH ships. Plus it's die-cast (with some plastic) and die-cast metal toys just rock. It reminds me of those sweet Force One die-cast jets I used to buy when I was a kid... just a lot more expensive. Yes, at around $130, it is quite expensive, even for being limited to 2000 pieces and being something so mind-blowingly radical. The ship is about 5.11-inches, where as the SGH R-9A Arrow Head equivalent is approximately 2.5-inches. I don't think I can really justify buying one of these since it's only twice as big as the SGH ship. For the cost of one of these I could get two cases of SGH ships - that's 24 ships! So, while I would love to have one of these, I think I may have to pass this time. That detail though, man, that is some fine detailing on it's die-cast awesomeness. Pre-orders are open at NCSX and it's expected to ship in March 2010. If you get one you could be a more crazed R-Type fan than me. Or just have tons more disposable cash.
