Darius Burst Trailer Reveals an All-new Silverhawk

Like many old-school shooters, the Darius series has been using the same heroic ship in every game, albeit with very slight modifications now and then. The new trailer for Darius Burst reveals an all-new, all-different type of Silverhawk. It has upturned wings, what looks like a radar dish on the top, and a massive cannon on the bottom ready to stab giant fish spaceships in their big ugly eyes. I'd love to know more about this awesome ship, but Taito's own site for Darius Burst doesn't even list the new ship yet. The regular Silverhawk, called the Silver Hawk Burst for this installment, does look a bit more streamlined than before. Darius Burst appears to have everything a good Darius game should (plus more with the new ship). It comes out on December 24th in Japan and hopefully it will be localized for a north American release. Darius Burst looks great, but seeing this game in motion really makes me want to see an HD Darius even more.
