Darksiders Art Book and Statue Debut at SDCC

Well, this is a surprise; Udon is publishing a videogame artbook that isn't from a Capcom game. Udon will be bringing a proper artbook for Darksiders with The Art of Darksiders. It's 288 pages of rad art from Joe Madureira, comic artist and Darksiders creative director. The book will debut at Comic-con this July in a limited hardcover edition, with the regular edition coming out in October. I would image the book will contain most, if not all, of the art fomr the Darksiders digital Hellbook (a digital artbook). I'm already a fan of Joe's art through the old Battle Chasers comics, although I haven't actually gotten around to playing Darksiders yet (I have a lot of games I'm behind on), but I may have to move it up in the stack and go through it before SDCC. Udon will be selling the book at their booth and Joe will even be there to autograph it.

Also announced today was that SOTA Toys will debuting a Darksiders statue at Comic-con. The statue will be of the main character War, the first Horseman of the Apocalypse, riding on his mighty steed Ruin and stand 14-inches tall. Now I really have to go through the game before then. I hear it's kind of like Zelda.

For some reason I get the Darkstalkers cartoon theme in my head whenever I see the Darksiders title. "We're the Dark... siders." I guess since Udon is publishing the artbook it's okay now.
