Finally: Heavenly Sword and Twisted Metal Action Figures

Sony action figures don't adhere to any tie-in game release; they get released whenever Sony and DC Direct damn well feel like it. The Resistance figures are out now, but Resistance 2 came out last year and Resistance 3 will be out who-knows-when. I think the Ratchet & Clank figures just got lucky that they're coming out close to A Crack in Time's release. Heavenly Sword was released early in the PlayStation 3's life, and will finally be getting a Nariko figure in July 2010. The figure looks very cool, except that it appears that her legs are not articulated. That hair of Nariko's has to be articulated, though. Just look at that hair! There's almost more hair than action figure!

Twisted Metal has been a long running series since the launch of the first PlayStation in 1995 and it's finally getting a Sweet Tooth figure in July 2010. There has been talk of a new Twisted Metal on the PS3, but when that is actually coming out is anyone's guess. I've always accepted Sweet Tooth as the icon/mascot for Twisted Metal, but I've never desired a figure of him. Why? Because Sweet Tooth is the embodiment of everything a clown is on the inside. Clowns are scary enough by themselves, I don't need a maniacally homicidal clown with fire for a hairstyle staring at me when I go to sleep at night. Although, if his fire hair actually had a light in it (like the light-up suit in NECA's Dead Space Isaac figure), I may have to face my fear of being stabbed by an evil toy clown. Seriously though, it's great to see Twisted Metal finally get some toy love. With this Sweet Tooth figure coming out I am fully expecting someone to make an "ISKREEM" truck for him to drive. Nariko's hair may need it's own special display stand.

The nightmares are starting again.
