Halo 4 Series 3 Figures Press Forward

Despite McFarlane Toys' Halo figures being in its death throes, it appears that Halo 4 Series 3 will be happening. Unless more are announced before these come out, Halo 4 Series 3 will have a mere three figures; Commander Sarah Palmer, Spartan Gabriel Thorne, and the Elite Jul 'Mdama. The glory days of Halo figures are over.

It's long after Halo 4's prime, but at least we're getting a Commander Palmer from McFarlane Toys.

Three figures is a far cry from 2008 - 2011 where there were multiple series in a year with multiple parts in a series (a preview wave and a regular wave). Supposedly, these three figures won't even be out until February of 2015, well over a year when Halo 4 Series 2 was released. That's quite a bit of off time. I'm very happy to see a Palmer figure, but might end up getting Thorne and 'Mdama, too, since there are only three figures this time.

Halo 4 Series 2 was mostly found in unconventional retail stores for action figures, like Walgreen's, who even had an exclusive. The figures could also be found at some online retailers, but I have a feeling that Series 3 will be mostly limited to the same type of stores and won't make it to the major retailers.

It's strange to me that Mega Bloks continues to release tons of Halo sets, yet McFarlane Toys releases are now practically non-existent. The second series of Micro Ops was never released and there were vehicles made and shown for the normal figures that also never came out, like the Falcon. With only three figures this time, these could very well be the last McFarlane Halo figures, unless they do get rights for Halo 5 figures. For now, these three figures are up for pre-order at Big Bad Toy Store.
