InuYasha -Sorrent/ShoPro (2005) -played on a Sanyo 8200
InuYasha fights tentacle beasts to figure out who possessed his friends. My Thoughts InuYasha is an anime about a half-demon fighting hordes of other demons while searching for shards of a mystical jewel. He is not alone with his sassy crew of Kagome, a schoolgirl that transports between worlds, Miroku, a horny monk that wants to do every girl he meets, and a boomerang wielding bitch named Sango. Needless to say the show currently plays on Adult Swim because of its intense bloody battles, some swearing, and the monk’s determination to get laid. I haven't seen a lot of episodes of the show, but from what I have seen I can tell that the game fits in well with the show. The game starts out with InuYasha having a dream about his friends being in trouble. He wakes up and lo and behold his friends are missing. He fights some demon guys and finds Kagome. Kagome joins InuYasha and is now a playable character for the player. The player can switch between the two at any time and each has their own strengths and weaknesses. InuYasha wields his powerful sword and has a larger health bar. Kagome can shoot arrows at out-of-reach switches and enemies.
There are some simple puzzle elements that consist of hitting switches and using teleporters. The action is fairly simple and slow paced. Fighting demons is basically standing in one spot and hitting the attack button. Enemies will come to you. If you’re playing Kagome then just stand in one spot and fire of arrows. You don’t need to worry if you take damage because the characters’ automatically regain health. Throughout the course of the game InuYasha and Kagome will earn more powerful special attacks performed by first pressing the 1, 2, or 3 key and then the attack key. The characters fight wolves, green and purple demons made mostly of tentacles, and guys with swords. The first two bosses are the possessed Miroku and Sango. InuYasha’s brother, Sesshomaru, is a boss as is a Tengu demon. The game ends very quickly and at said end we find out that this is just the first episode. A mysterious voice says that everything is going according to plan or something. Well, I’ve seen enough episodes to figure out how the second part of the game will turn out. InuYasha will fight a couple other demon characters, probably Sesshomaru again, and the mysterious voice will be Naraku, the big evil demon guy that keeps giving InuYasha trouble. This game is only something I can recommend to the hardcore InuYasha fans that need a mini story on the go.
