Mortal Kombat: Legacy Episode 6

The sixth episode of Mortal Kombat: Legacy begins with a message from director Kevin Tancharoen saying that this one represents his different take on the MK universe. The Kitana and Mileena episodes were a clear indication that he was not "green-lit" to bring the entirety of his original Rebirth concept to the series. He probably got to include some of his different take in the Jax and Sonya episodes, and the Johnny Cage episode, but when Baraka showed up as regular Baraka and not the crazy martial arts surgeon in the Kitana episodes, it was obvious he wasn't allowed to stray too far from the established formula. Fortunately, this episode is an example of what Tancharoen originally intended for the entire series because it is very much a different take on Raiden.

Now, when you watch this, the big question is going to be, "Why doesn't he just teleport?" All I can think is that he needs a massive re-charge or something. This is my favorite episode of the series so far because it's so different. If Mortal Kombat: Legacy ever sees a Blu-ray release, I hope that one of the special features would be of Tancharoen detailing what he would have done with each character in his own version of MK.
