Raiden Fighters Fighting On

The sun sets on another successful operation of blowing up everything.

Here is an announcement that I've been awaiting a very long time for: The Raiden Fighters series is coming to the Xbox 360. By way of Insert Credit, the latest issue of Famitsu announced that all the games in the Raiden Fighters series will be coming to the Xbox 360 on a single DVD titled Raiden Fighters Aces.

Since its all the games then the compilation should contain Raiden Fighters, Raiden Fighters 2: Operation Hell Dive, and Raiden Fighters Jet which were released in 1996, 1997, 1998 respectively. Now, don't confuse Raiden Fighters with the regular Raiden series. Fighters is a spin-off series with more jets to choose from (including secret planes), crazier special weapons, and more intense bust-your-balls-through-the-walls shooter action.

The compilation will also have Xbox Live support, most likely to upload high scores and possibly gameplay videos. Of course, all this fantastic shooter news is for Japan, so hopefully the disc will see a release here as well. If not, there's always the chance of a release on Xbox Live or that the disc will be a one of those region-free Xbox 360 discs.
