SGH: Thunder Force V Perfect Box and Robotics SP

Takara Tomy A.R.T.S. had some big news today. First, they revealed that the next Shooting Game Historica project is Thunder Force V. This isn't the next series, but a complete box set for Thunder Force V. It will include the RVR-01, the RVR-02, and the RVR-02B in one awesome package. Have a look at the prototypes.

T-ARTS are seriously outdoing themselves with this set.

You see, the smaller RVR-02 fits inside the armor, easily making it the biggest ship in the SGH line. T-ARTS expects the set will be available in February 2010, so keep an eye on your favorite import shops for pre-orders. The TFV ships pictured are actually from Dengeki Hobby's limited edition version of the set which has a red RVR-01 and will cost a powerful ¥12800 (approximately $140). I'm sure the regular edition will be a bit cheaper, so don't fret, Thunder Force fans. There are no photos of the display stand, but Takara Tomy did post a piece of concept art for the display. It looks like the display stand arms are hinged, allowing for some dynamic space posing. They are seriously outdoing themselves with this set.

T-ARTS also mentioned that there will indeed be a Video Game Robotics SP set. It will, of course, include some alternate coloring and an extra accessory or two. For example, Valken (Cybernator) will have the booster that it used in a level or two of the game. More details on the SP set of VGR should be coming later this year. Until then, enjoy this sample picture of Valken's booster.

BOOST!
