Spawn's Super Robot Wars

The "historic" 35th series of Spawn figures was revealed at Spawn.com today: Robot Wars. I believe they call it historic due to it being the 35th series, not because they are robots. Spawn has done the robot thing plenty of times before. The brief synopsis is that a team of five robot warriors defend humanity against the "unstoppable" Mechanoid army in the year 3047. The five robot heroes of Earth each have their own specialties used in the robotic war of the future. The designs of the figures are like a combination of the Adventures of Spawn style coloring with the usual big robot style of the other roboticized Spawn figures over the years. The previously announced Manga Spawn 2 fits in perfectly with these guys. The Robot Wars arrive in October.

Striker, the weapons specialist, is easily the coolest of the Robot Wars 'bots. With the Spawn skull on his torso he almost seems more "Spawn" than Mecha-Spawn.

Techno here is a robot scientist with six eye ports. What happened to all the human scientists that there has to be a robot one?

Team leader Mecha-Spawn looks like a robo-knight, but I'm not sure if the design is really doing it for me.

With massive arms and a face like that on his chest, even the Pushing and Shoving robots are afraid of Crusher.

The burly Mechanoid Trooper has some nice missile pods on his shoulders, but he looks more like a robot Hulk with that color scheme. These guys don't look that unstoppable.

Hey, wait a minute... why does Breaker have the same exact design as the Mechanoid Trooper? Is he a rogue Mechanoid that allied with the super robot team? I smell an elaborate and convoluted back-story.
