Steel Empire and Recca Double Shot

A double shot-o-shooter news for two 3DS shooters.

-A remastered version of the awesome shooter Steel Empire is coming to the 3DS. Steel Empire was a steampunk shooter before steampunk was so widely recognized as a thing. It originally came out for the Sega Genesis in 1992 and a version of the game was also released on the Game Boy Advance in 2004. I loved the game on the Genesis and is one of my most played games on that system. Steel Empire is a horizontal shooter where you can choose to fly a blimp or a plane. Starfish is remastering the game with enhanced graphics, 3D, and are rebalancing the difficulty. The original was pretty damn difficult at times, so that might be a good thing. Steel Empire is hitting Japan in December, but there's no word on a U.S. release yet. If this comes to the U.S. it's another step to me thinking of actually buying a 3DS.

Steel Empire, the steampunk shooter before steampunk was popular.

-Another shooter on its way to the 3DS is something called Summer Carnival '92 Recca. The name is weird because Recca was developed for the Summer Carnival tournament in 1992. It was released in Japan for the Famicom and was meant to push the NES it's limits. The game is a vertical shooter and you should check out the brief 30-second trailer to see how hardcore this game is. And that music! The music is amazing! Recca is not frakking around. Summer Carnival '92 Recca is already out in Europe on the 3DS' eShop and should be coming to the rest of the world. Man, these shooters are making it difficult to not buy a 3DS.
