Street Fighter X Mega Man is Capcom Approved

Back in 2010 we first saw the awesome 8-bit style Mega Man Vs. Street Fighter game that an intrepid Capcom fan was making. Well, now at the end of 2012, the game has been re-named Street Fighter X Mega Man, is officially supported by Capcom, and will be available as a free download on December 17th. Yes, in a world where official Mega Man projects get cancelled one after another, it's a fan project that makes it through to really celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Blue Bomber. Check out the announcement trailer and just try not to be overwhelmed by the awesome.

Personally, I think the title worked better with Mega Man at the front since it is a Mega Man game with Street Fighter and not a Street Fighter game with Mega Man, but with Capcom putting their A-OK stamp on it and providing it to the world, I guess I can forgive the name change. At least eight Street Fighter characters will take the places of Robot Masters with Ryu, Chun Li, Blanka, Dhalsim, Rose, Rolento, C. Viper, and one more we haven't seen yet. Supposedly there will also be other Street Fighters making cameos in the game. The stages are inspired from the Street Fighter's stages and the music is chip-tune versions of Street fighter music combined with Mega Man music.

This will be available on December 17th for free at capcom_unity.com/mega_man. Check out the games beginnings on Sonic88's YouTube channel.
