Transformers Headmasters, Super-God Masterforce, and Victory Rolling Out on DVD

Shout! Factory will be bringing three Japanese Transformers series to the U.S. for the first time in one big DVD box set called The Japanese Collection. This massive 13-disc set will contain the Headmasters, Super-God Masterforce, and Victory series which ran from 1987, 1988, and 1989 respectively. So, just how much Transformers watching do you have ahead of you? Well, Headmasters is 35 episodes, Super-God Masterforce is 43 episode, and Victory is 38 episodes. You'll be enjoying this set for months.

The audio will be the original Japanese, so those of you hoping for Peter Cullen as Optimus are out of luck. Bonus features include vintage toy commercials (hopefully all the Japanese ones from when the series aired), galleries, and whatever else "much more" is. The set will be available on 7/5/11, but can be pre-ordered for $89.99 at the Shout! Factory Store. I'm tempted to order it now, but I may wait to see if Shout! Factory is offering any kind of exclusive with the set down at San Diego Comic-con this year.

Oh, Shout will release the Headmasters in a separate box set, so it's possible that the other two series will also see separate releases. Fans might as well buy all of them at once, though. With these three Japanese series finally making their wat stateside, hopefully Shout! will also get to bring over the Japanese Beast Wars series. (via Tformers)

Finally we get to see what the Transformers were up to after the original series.
