Six and Mr. Nix Tricia Helfer, best known as the Cylon Six from Battlestar Galactica, is in PETA's new Angels for Animals ad, which shows her holding her pet cat Mr. Nix. This is a great ad because it combines three of my favorite things: a cat, a hot lady, and a Battlestar Galactica reference. Mr. Nix is a big kitty and has a comfy spot on Helfer, which would instantly make any fanboy jealous. Mr. Nix knows it, too. Just look at those eyes, primed and ready for laser activation. If you head to HelpingAnmials.com you can watch a brief behind-the-scenes photo shoot video about why she did the ad. Helfer is not only pro-cat, but owns six of them herself. She also answers the question "What would Six do?" which is sure to be made into useless bumper stickers and pins if it hasn't already. The end of the video goes into the current season of Battlestar Galactica, which seems a little weird, but now that Helfer has put herself out there as anti-bad animal stuff, perhaps it will help persuade the hardcore PETA-ites to start checking out the show. Anyway, I'll be waiting for a clever cat picture/caption combo making reference of Tricia Helfer or Six on icanhascheezburger now that this ad is out. I know somebody is thinking one up.
